A mysterious killer video tape is circulating around. One look at this tape and you have seven days left to live. News Reporter Cindy Campbell (Faris) witnesses this video tape and tries to work out a way to prevent her death. But this is not the only mystery to appear. Crop circles have been appearing in the local farm of Tom (Sheen) and George (Rex). With help from Aunt Shaneequa (Latifah), Cindy suspects that the aliens may be linked with the killer tape and must now work out both mysteries before it's the end of the world.

Christmas this year looks bad to Kevin McCallister. His parents Peter and Kate have been separated for the past 8 months, and things at home with Kate are difficult enough without the bullying dealt to Kevin by his older brother Buzz and older sister Megan. Peter invites Kevin and his siblings to stay with him and his rich new girlfriend Natalie for Christmas. Kate simply offers the kids love and affection. Natalie lives in a mansion where almost everything responds to remote commands. Butler Prescott and kindly housekeeper Molly are at Kevin's beck and call. Peter and Natalie leave for a while. At Christmas, they will be picking up some house guests at the airport, including an 11-year-old crown prince. Kevin witnesses his old enemy Marv Merchants and Marv's wife Vera breaking in to case the mansion with the help of an insider who gave Marv a remote control to it. Natalie and Peter don't believe Kevin, and Prescott says he saw nothing, which makes Kevin think maybe Prescott is the insider. Peter decides they should all trim the Christmas tree, and they do. Kate comes over to bring Kevin some things, and it becomes obvious to Kevin that Kate and Peter still love each other deep down inside. Marv and Vera plan to kidnap the prince and decide to make their move on Christmas morning. Upon learning about this, Kevin rigs the house with booby traps. Come Christmas morning, Kevin is left at the mansion while Natalie and Peter go out to pick up the guests. In their absence, Marv and Vera break in again, looking for the prince. But they didn't know that they'd find Kevin in there, with a bunch of painful booby traps for them.

Van Wilder is a guy who has been at his college for seven years. He spends most of his time throwing parties and "fund raisers". When his father decides that it's time for tough love, he doesn't pay his tuition. So Van becomes a professional party thrower. At the same time, Gwen who writes for the college paper, is tasked with doing a story on him, but Van is too busy partying to do that. So she writes it using info from people who talk about him and writes an unflattering piece, which doesn't make him happy. He then dares her to see if she can get the true story but is more interested in trying to score with her, which is not easy because she has a boyfriend, who is a snob, and who is not too happy with the amount time she is spending with him. So he tries to get rid of him.

Neil Diamond is the man of this film and is what brings the group of friends together, Darren Silverman (Jason Biggs), Wayne Lefessier (Steve Zahn) and J.D McNugget (Jack Black).

When the group have just finished performing a song from their Neil Diamond tribute band they go to a bar to relax. A woman walks in and Wayne and J.D persuade Darren to go try and talk to her. He goes after a little more persuasion (lying) from Wayne who says she 'wants him'. She quickly denies him and he accidently leaves his bottle of beer on the table. Another, more repulsive, man comes over to try and hit on her and Darren comes back for his beer where the woman sits him down and pretends he is her boyfriend just to get rid of the other man. They spend the night talking and eventually end up in a realtionship. However, Darrens realtionship with Judith (Amanda Peet) means he spends no time at all now with his two best friends. Darren tries to get Judith and his friends to become aquainted and perhaps even become friends but this plan is a disaster and leaves Wayne and J.D with no Darren. They come up with several different ideas to try and get Darren back including 'cheating' photographs and breaking and entering. All of these plans are foiled but there is one plan that they hope will work. In high school Darren was in love with another girl, Sandy Perkus (Amanda Detemer) and she is back in town so the two guys try to persuade her and Darren to get back together. Then they kidnap Judith and tell Darren she is dead so that he will get back together with Sandy and they can all be friends again. But Judith knows it is Wayne and J.D that have kidnapped her so she eventually figures out a way to get out and when she does she sees that Sandy and Darren are back together but Darren had promised Judith they would get married so they still carry on with the wedding after Sandy runs away to finish becoming a nun. Wayne and J.D are put in jail for kidnapping but are then broken out by their former gym teacher, they then go and stop Sandy from becoming a nun and tell her Darren still loves her, then they kidnap Neil Diamond in the assumption that he will help get them back together and then they go to the wedding. Neil Diamond plays for them and Darren realises they error of his ways and goes back to Sandy. Judith, heartbroken, then turns and goes with Wayne and J.D and the coach admit that they are gay and they go together. On stage that night Neil Diamond weds Darren and Sandy, Wayne and Judith and J.D and the coach. The film ends on a humourosly happy ending.
